UNIQUE LOG CORNER ASSEMBLY: This quality garden room features a unique patented wall jointing system, which is both attractive and strong and combines the benefits of a log cabin with a conventional summerhouse. Each wall log slots into full length aluminium connectors which are concealed by external timber cover trims. The logs and the aluminium connectors are precision milled to ensure a neat fit. No screws or nails are required which makes installation easier and also allows for timber movement. The finished corner assembly is strong, weatherproof and draughtproof. PRE-ASSEMBLED FACTORY FITTED ROOF: Unlike most log cabins, the roof is made in prefabricated panels. It is even finished with your choice of genuine thatch or felt tiles, all fully fitted in the factory. This ensures a neat finish and it also makes installation much easier and quicker. This feature is a significant benefit over most log cabins which are supplied with the roof completely unassembled and with the roof components supplied loose. This ensures a neat finish and it also makes installation much easier and quicker. This feature is a significant benefit over most log cabins which are supplied with the roof completely unassembled and with the roof components supplied loose. PRESSURE TREATED FOUNDATION BEAMS: Substantial 3"x2" foundation beams are laid on the base to support the walls. This ensures that the wall logs are not in contact with the ground. The foundation beams are pressure treated for durability. Pressure treatment is a lifetime preservative treatment. With the foundation beams this summerhouse can be built without a floor. If required a timber or concrete floor can be laid inside after the walls and roof have been fitted. A timber floor is available as an option. HIGH SPECIFICATION DOORS & WINDOWS: The door leaves and window sashes in this luxury garden room are similar to those used in housebuilding, with morticed and tenoned joints throughout. High quality locks and a choice of brass or chrome handles are included.
HEAVY DUTY TIMBER FLOOR: The optional timber floor features strong 19mm finished thickness tongued and grooved floorboards and strong ex 3"x2" floor joists which are pressure treated for life. The timber floor is designed to fit neatly between the foundation beams. Skirting boards are also included to ensure a neat internal finish. MICROPOROUS PRESERVATIVE - FACTORY FINISHED: This high quality preservative finish is professionally spray applied in the factory to both sides of the timber. The cabin is treated inside and out in a choice of colours. One or two colours can be chosen, with the doors, windows and fascias being painted the same colour as the external cladding and roof or painted a different colour. Treatment of the roof includes the rafters and boards. The microporous preservative repells water while allowing the timber to breathe. MICROPOROUS PRESERVATIVE - DELIVERED ONLY: A high quality microporous preservative treatment system is available for delivery with your log cabin. The system includes a base coat and a finishing top coat in a wide choice of translucent or opaque colours. The microporous preservative repells water while allowing the timber to breathe. This option can be used instead of the factiory finish or to stain over the factory finish with a different contrasting colour. UNDERFLOOR INSULATION: The underfloor insulation is designed to suit our timber floor. The rigid insulation boards are suspended between the floor joists and above the ground. The top face of the insulation is just below the floorboards. The solidity of the floor is unaffected by this design. The internal appearance is also unchanged with attractive and durable tongued and grooved boards. Sufficient fixings are supplied to ensure that the insulation is suspended at the optimum height. Detailed instructions are supplied. The floor insulation used is 50mm thick polystyrene which is certified by the British Board of Agrement. THATCHED ROOF: Thatched roofing has been popular for centuries and not just for its beauty. Thatch is also a durable building material which provides excellent insulation. A log cabin or summerhouse with a thatched roof is not only cooler in summer and warmer in winter but also quieter inside and a more peaceful retreat. DECORATIVE FELT TILES: Mineral coated bitumen felt tiles are an attractive and durable roofing material which is far more hardwearing than standard roofing felt. Traditionally used for small buildings only in the UK, most felt tiles are made in Scandinavia where they are used widely in housebuilding. |
